The controller responsible for the personal data collected through this website is the Smash Bros. Mallorca Staff.

2. Purposes of processing

Personal data provided by users will be processed for the following purposes:

  • Managing the registration and maintenance of user accounts.
  • Supporting the organisation of Smash Bros. Mallorca tournaments and competitions and the publication of rankings.
  • Publishing the information required for those activities, such as usernames, results, standings and statistics.
  • Keeping the platform secure, preventing misuse and protecting the integrity of the service.
  • Managing consent relating to the use of cookies where necessary.

3. Legal basis for processing

The legal basis for processing is the consent given by users when they register or otherwise agree to the relevant processing, as well as when they participate in tournaments and/or in-person events organised by Smash Bros. Mallorca.

4. Data processed

Depending on how the platform is used, the following categories of data may be processed:

  • Username.
  • Email address.
  • Information voluntarily included in the user profile.
  • Historical information about the user written by the Smash Bros. Mallorca Staff.
  • Data relating to tournament participation, results, standings, most-used characters, stages selected and other statistics.
  • Technical data generated by browsing, including IP addresses, technical identifiers and the information described in the Cookie Policy.

5. Data retention

Personal data will be retained while the user maintains an active account or for as long as it is needed to provide the requested services.

When users request the deletion of their account, their data will be erased except where retention is necessary to meet legal obligations or resolve potential claims.

Historical tournament results will remain published where necessary to preserve the integrity of community rankings, historical records or statistics. Please note that ongoing participation in Smash Bros. Mallorca tournaments and events constitutes express acceptance of this possibility.

6. Recipients of personal data

As a general rule, personal data will not be disclosed to third parties.

However, it may be accessible to technology providers that supply services needed to operate the platform (for example, web hosting, email or backup services). These providers will act as processors in accordance with Article 28 of Regulation (EU) 2016/679.

Personal data may also be disclosed where required by law.

7. Publication of tournament information

The competitive nature of the platform requires certain information related to sporting or competitive activity to be published.

The following information may therefore be made public:

  • Username.
  • Results.
  • Rankings.
  • Wins and losses.
  • Characters most frequently used in tournaments.
  • Player statistics and competitive history.

8. User rights

Users may exercise the following rights at any time:

  • Right of access.
  • Right to rectification.
  • Right to erasure.
  • Right to object.
  • Right to restriction of processing.
  • Right to data portability.
  • Right to withdraw consent.

The Smash Bros. Mallorca Staff may amend this Privacy Policy to reflect regulatory, technical or functional changes to the platform.
